Freddy Piñero, Jr. at Crescent Moon Studios.
Freddy Piñero, Jr. is a native of Miami Beach, Florida. From an early age, Freddy showed a strong proclivity toward music. He picked up a guitar as a teenager and this changed his life. Soon after High School, he built his first recording studio and began working with local artists. While attending college classes in Miami, he met the very talented Jon Secada. They began working on song demos, most of which would end up on Jon’s debut album, "Jon Secada". Freddy later began working at Crescent Moon Studios, owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan. While working as an engineer at Crescent Moon, Freddy worked with many artists including Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Madonna, and, of course, Gloria Estefan . In 1998, Freddy met Latin actor/ singer Carlos Ponce. That very day, the two wrote “Rezo”, thus crossing over into the songwriting and producing arena . "Rezo", chosen as the first single for the album, spent an impressive 9 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s charts. That year, Freddy was named as one of the top 25 Hot Latin Track Producers for 1998 in Billboard magazine. Freddy went on to write and produce 3 more tracks for Carlos Ponce's second album “Todo Lo Que Soy” including the single “La Razon De Mi Ser”. In 2000, Freddy won his first Grammy Award for Gloria Estefan’s Alma Caribeña Album. In 2001, he won a Latin Grammy Award for Thalia’s "Arrasando" album and a Dove award for the song “Bendito Amor” for Jaci Velasquez. 2003 saw Freddy teamed with Jaci again to write and produce the song “Glass House” on her English language album entitled “Unspoken”. In 2005, Freddy found himself back in the studio with Carlos Ponce. Together they wrote and produced the first two singles for singer Chayanne's album "Cautivo", “No Te Preocupes Por Mi” and "Te Echo De Menos" landing on Billboards Latin charts at #1 and #2, respectively.
